His meticulous attention to detail in addressing the myriad questions involved in business planning and acquisitions are essential factors in his minimizing many of the confrontational issues that may develop between his clients and their lenders, landlords, customers, and those involved in the sale and purchase of their businesses. Mr. Axelson's extensive experience in wealth preservation techniques assists his clients in passing the maximum amount to future generations while minimizing loss of control of assets and tax liabilities.
Mr. Axelson often volunteers in the community and serves as a director and past president of the Amity Club of Washington, a local charitable and social organization. He serves on the Planned Giving Committee of the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. He is chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association and has acted as a panel chairman for the Attorney Grievance Commission of the Maryland State Bar.
He was recently inducted as a bar leader by the Montgomery County Bar Foundation based on his service to the legal profession and to the community. He has served as a pro bono arbitrator for the Commission on Common Ownership Communities and recently won an award from the Montgomery County Government for his outstanding contributions.
Jeffrey M. Axelson has been a lecturer for the Community Association Institute, the American Law Institute, and the American Bar Association. His local honors include a listing in Who's Who in Washington.
Mr. Axelson is a graduate of Colgate University and the Washington College of Law at American University and is admitted to practice before the courts of Maryland, Florida, the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
